Sawhill Ponds is a nature preserve on the front range of Colorado. The first time I spent time here, I was surprised at how much it reminded me of my childhood. It’s ecologically and geographically distant from the forests and swamps of New England where I spent countless summer days, but there are strong echos of home in the chaos and stillness of this place.
